"The Hamlet Syndrome" awarded at 75th Locarno IFF
"The Hamlet Syndrome" directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski and produced by Magdalena Kamińska and Agata Szymańska from Balapolis got two awards at 75th Locarno IFF. The film was awarded with Grand Prix Semaine de la critique and 22. Independent Critics Award "Boccalino d'Oro" for best documentary. -
Strange Angels has started shooting
Shooting has started for the new production of CANAL + series "Strange Angels" directed by Mariusz Palej. The producers of the series are Agata Szymańska and Magdalena Kamińska from Balapolis. Karolina Kominek, Dawid Ogrodnik, Alicja Wieniawa-Narkiewicz, Edyta Olszówka, Tomasz Schuchardt, Roman Gancarczyk, Piotr Żurawski, Robert Gonera, Paulina Gałązka and Olaf Lubaszenko are among starts of the show. The series will be a surprising and fresh combination of crime fiction with thriller and supernatural elements. Strange Angels will be shot in Gdynia, Warsaw and Wałbrzych, among others. The premiere is set for 2023. -
The Hamlet Syndrome awarded with The Golden Hobby-Horse Award!
"The Hamlet Syndrome" directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski and produced by Balapolis received the Golden Hobby-Horse Award for the Best Film in the Polish Competition at the 62nd Krakow Film Festival. The day before, at the Industry KFF gala, the film producers, Magdalena Kamińska and Agata Szymańska were awarded with Award of the National Chamber of Audiovisual Producers and FDR Studio for the best producer of Polish documentaries and short films. "The Hamlet Syndrome" was also honored with the Krakow City Students' Award for the best film in competition and special mention from the jury of International Documentary Competition. -
The Hamlet Syndrome opens 62. Krakow Film Festival!
"The Hamlet Syndrome", the latest documentary directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski, opens the 62nd Krakow Film Festival. The premiere takes place on May 29, 2022. The festival lasts until June 5, 2022 (in cinemas), and in addition to the opening screening, the film will be shown at the screening on June 1. 2022 at the Mikro cinema. "The Hamlet Syndrome" is the third film directed together by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski. Their previous project, "The Prince and The Dybbuk", received the Venezia Classici Prize for the best documentary film about cinema at the 74th Venice Film Festival. -
WE HAVEN'T LOST OUR WAY WORLD PREMIERE AT BERLINALE
The latest film by Anka and Wilhelm Sasna "We haven't lost our way" has its world premiere at 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. The event takes place on February 10-20.02.2022. The film has been selected for the Forum section. It will be another premiere of Sasnal's film at one of the most important film festivals, that few years ago also screened their film "Huba". -

Simona Kossak supported by Polish Film Institute
Simona Kossak, the new project by Adrian Panek entitled received funding for development from the Polish Film Institute. This is another director's film that will be produced by Magdalena Kamińska and Agata Szymańska from Balapolis. The first one, Werewolf from 2018, won two awards at the Gdynia Film Festival and was on the list of films nominated for European Film Award. The plot of the director's latest project will be based on the book by Anna Kamińska A story about the extraordinary life of Simona Kossak. Adrian Panek will also be the screenwriter of the film. -
Werewolf in cinemas in UK
"Werewolf" by Adrian Panek has just been released in UK. The premiere took place on October 4th 2019 and since then, the film gets raving reviews from british press. "The Times" wrote that "It's stunningly shot, soaked in sylvan shadow and with a bravura slow-mo finale worthy of Brian DePalma at his best. The child cast, often blank-eyed and emaciated, are uniformly excellent too". The film is released by Eureka Video. -
Werewolf Fight For Nominations For European Film Awards
Werewolf is one of 46 films that fight for nomination for The European Film Awards. The film has been selected along with such a films as "Pain and glory" by Pedro Almodovar, "An Officer and a Spy" by Roman Polanski, "Sorry, we missed you" by Ken Loach and "Young Ahmed" directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. The nominations will be announced on November 9th, while the awards themselves will be handed out on December 7th in Berlin. -
The Hunter's Son supported by Euroimages
The Hunter’s Son by Ricky Rijneke has just been supported by Euroimages. The project co-produced by Balapolis is one of 23 films awarded by this financial grant. Morever, The Hunter’s Son will be soon presented at Venice Gap Financing Market during 76. Venice Film Festival. The event takes place from August 30 to September 1. The Hunter’s Son will be second film by Ricky Rijneke. Her debut film The Silent Ones was in Official Competition of International Film Festival Rotterdam. The Hunter’s Son is coproduced by The Netherlands, Poland, Island and Belgium. The producer of the film is Rotterdam Films run by Dirk Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden. -
Werewolf goes to Cleveland IFF and Febiofest!
Werewolf directed by Adrian Panek just joined programmes of two wonderful film festivals. At the end of March it will be shown at 26. Febiofest The International Film Club Festival in Slovakia where it will be part of Planet Dark Presents. The screening takes place on March 24th. Another screenings take place on April 3rd and 4th at Cleveland International Film festival. The film competes in Central and Eastern European Film Competition. -
Werewolf released in Poland
We are happy to annouce that Werewolf by Adrian Panek will have its polish premiere on March 29. The film was produced by Balapolis run by Magdalena Kamińska and Agata Szymańska in a collaboration with German (Twenty Twenty Vision) and Dutch (House of Netherhorror) coproducers. Werewolf has its premiere at 43. Gdynia Film Festival where it got awards for Best Directing and Best Music. The film was also shown at 22. POFF Tallinn Film Festival and Fantastic Fest in Texas. The film will be distibuted by Velvet Spoon. -
Two Awards for Werewolf at 22. POFF in Tallinn
We are happy to annouce that our latest film Werewolf just got two awards at 22. PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, Estonia. The second film directed by Adrian Panek was awarded with Audience Award and Ecumenical Jury Prize. PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is the biggest film event in Estonia. This year it took place between November 16 and December 2. -
Two awards for Werewolf at Gdynia FF
